Zalgo Text Generator
Zalgo text works by attaching stacks of Unicode combining diacritical marks (the same characters normally used for accent marks) above and below each letter until the text overflows past normal line height. The three intensity levels below control how heavy the effect gets: Mild stays mostly legible, Glitch spills visibly into the lines above and below, and Cursed produces the full overflow the format is known for.
The result is plain Unicode text and pastes cleanly into Discord messages and server names, Twitter and Reddit posts, and most other text fields. A handful of platforms (Snapchat especially) strip combining marks before display — for those, see the Snapchat Font Generator page, which shows only styles that survive Snapchat's filters.

Mild, Glitch, and Cursed: choosing an intensity
Mild adds 1–2 combining marks per letter, keeping the original word roughly readable while the glitch effect stays subtle. Glitch applies around 5 marks per character, spilling visibly into the lines above and below in most renderers and making the source word harder to parse at a glance. Cursed uses 10 or more marks, producing the full visual chaos associated with Zalgo's horror-meme origins — at this level the original text is only barely recoverable from context.
How the effect works: Unicode combining marks
Unicode has a category of characters called combining diacritical marks, which attach to and modify the glyph before them rather than appearing on their own. Accent marks on é, ü, and ñ are the everyday version. Zalgo text applies those same marks in bulk from above-baseline, mid-height, and below-baseline positions, stacking enough of them that renderers have no choice but to push the text far past normal line height.
